Project Overview
Order up! Pixel Cafe is a narrative time manager from Polish developer Baltoro Games, released in November 2023. The development team met with Starfall at Gamescom to discuss their launch strategy, and engagement began shortly after. With 1200 wishlists on Steam and a significant coverage hiatus, Starfall got to work earning Pixel Cafe placements across PC and console sites. Upon release, Pixel Cafe was featured on Steam’s “Popular and Upcoming” page, amassing significant press attention, including Metacritic outlet reviews.
The Task
- Discuss strategy for a 3-month engagement contract
- Draft and distribute 4 press releases covering the game’s major marketing beats, including a Steam Next Fest announcement
- Introduce Reddit ads to increase daily wishlist numbers
- Oversee a successful influencer campaign, earning 5000 stream hours in its first week
- Grow wishlist numbers to 12,000 before launch, earning a feature on Steam’s “Popular and Upcoming.”
The Results
Pixel Cafe was well received by the press and influencers, averaging a 7 in review scores and getting positive attention from Twitch and YouTube content creators. With Starfall’s help, Baltoro Games hit all their KPIs, including Metacritic reviews and a spotlight on Steam’s webpage.
